Brock Dickson, MSW, RSW

Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist

Difficulties and problems in our lives can leave us feeling lost and not sure where to go. When our previous ways of moving on aren’t working or are making things worse, we can find ourselves desperate to find another way forward.  I work to explore people’s situations from the stance as an experienced guide that values their experience, works to meet their needs, and to find burrowed treasures of meaning and motivation.

EXPERIENCE:
Brock is a Registered Social Worker and a University of Toronto graduate. Brock has worked 6 years as a counsellor for Haliburton Highlands Health Services, providing counselling services to both youth and adults.  Over the past 7 years, Brock has worked with people struggling with depression, anxiety, shame, relationship issues, grief, anger, and traumatic experiences. Brock has also led a support group for men for 4 years, which has yielded valuable insight into shame and the recovery of men living with mental health difficulties.  Brock’s expertise is in Compassion Focused Therapy, and he endeavours to help people find hidden treasures of meaning, motivation, and strength. Brock is also able to provide faith-integrated therapy for Christians.
